We are running through the videos from the No. 30 to the No. 1 most-viewed Pride & Polish video. Plans for a 2020 event are currently on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Up this week at No. 9 is Ryan Hooten with his 1995 Peterbilt 379, which was a perennial Best of Show contender in Pride & Polish events in Dallas and Las Vegas in the early 2010s.

Some of the many changes Hooten made to the truck to make it a contender each year were converting the truck’s cab to a Unibilt, replacing the original ’95 Cat C-15 with a C-16, rebuilding the truck’s rear ends, putting in a new transmission, installing an air-ride front-end system, shaving the door handles and cutting a hole for and mounting a window in the back of the sleeper.

He also completely gutted the truck’s interior and, with the help of his wife, turned it into an ode to the West. The ranch-style leather upholstery and cowhide trimmings make it a downsized version of the couple’s home decor.
