As we get later into the summer and into the fall, the number of in-person truck shows starts to dwindle. From all indications -- including my own observations at the Mid-America Trucking Show and Shell Rotella SuperRigs, as well as coverage from my colleagues at the Crossroads Truck Meet, Large Cars and Guitars, and Gear Jammer shows -- the 2025 show season has been one to remember.
The quality of workmanship and design owners showcase at the shows just somehow seems gets better and better each and every passing year.
There are, of course, several big ones left on the 2025 calendar (stay tuned for further coverage when I head out to Guilty by Association in Joplin later this month). And here at Overdrive, we want to help put a bow on the 2025 season with our annual virtual Pride & Polish competition.
Having judges go over your truck with a fine-tooth comb and selecting it out of dozens or even hundreds of others as the best at a show is a great honor. But there’s no doubt pride of profession in your fellow trucker just looking at the truck and giving the nod of approval.

With Pride & Polish, that’s the recognition we hope to provide.
As truck show season winds down, we’re officially opening up the entry period for Pride & Polish today. Entries will remain open for a month through Oct. 1.
As in previous years, there are five categories for potential entry -- Working Combo, Working Bobtail, Limited Mileage, Antique, and Interior. Depending on the number of entries we receive in the working categories, those may be split into multiple classes based on model year.
At the conclusion of the entry period, we open up the contest to public voting, where Overdrive readers will pick their favorite truck and/or combo from each category to determine finalists in each category and the ultimate winners.
As with previous years, three finalists in each category, including the winner, will receive plaques. You can browse stories about past winners at the Overdrive's Pride & Polish category page here.
