This 1985 Freightliner FLD is owned by James Qualls, who has been driving trucks for about six years. Before he bought the truck, which is powered by a 400 Big Cam Cummins and a 9-speed, it was owned by a father and son, who planned to rebuild it together as a project. Life got in the way, though, and the pair listed it for sale. Qualls bought it, and the previous owner "threw in box after box of parts," he said. When he got it, the truck had been painted and a few other things had been done, but Qualls has since performed "a lot of electrical repair and fixed various issues on the truck," he said.
It's equipped with a wet kit, and Qualls said his plan is "to put it back on the road as a one-truck operation and finally achieve my dream of being an owner-operator," pulling end dumps and flatbeds.
