Jernigan

Owner-operator Tommy Jernigan bought this 1998 Peterbilt 379 in July 2014. He said at the time, the truck "was somewhat run down" and "needed a lot of attention." He's used the rig to haul logs, grain, cotton bales, gravel, sand and wood chips, and today just hauls his logging equipment with it.

Powered by a 3406E Cat, the rig was equipped with a 9-speed transmission, 4.33 rears with 46,000-pound axles and an Air Trac suspension when Jernigan bought it. He's since swapped the transmission for an 18-speed and changed to 40,000-pound rear axles set at a 3.55 ratio with a Flex Air suspension.

He's also stretched the day cab's wheelbase to 260 inches.
