Texas extends lower truck tolls near Austin

The Texas Dept. of Transportation is extending at least until Jan. 25 reduced tolls for truckers using State Highway 130 and State Highway 455E toll roads to bypass Austin.

Tolls to trucks are reduced 67 percent to the same amount as cars.

The program is designed to relieve traffic congestion on I-35. Truck traffic has increased 39 percent on the toll roads since tolls were cut.
