What is music’s significance to you? As a guitarist, singing became an important way to communicate with other people. Early on I found that I was never able to tell the complete story with just the guitar alone. So singing became a necessity. Whether it was my emotions or someone else’s, I have always felt expressing them musically sends a very powerful message. To me, singing is truth and playing music is the lie detector.
How do you keep music in your life when busy on the road? My guitar is always with me. I play whenever I have a few moments.
What’s your daily haul like? I’m regional, out Monday through Friday. Hauling flatbed, construction and steel.

The Trucker Talent Search culminates with a live contest featuring three finalists. The first-place winner receives a professional recording session. The contest will be emceed by Tony Justice, who will also perform during the event.
