After his honorable discharge from the Marines in 1985, Clifford Petersen worked as an equipment operator in heavy highway construction in Montana. He began hauling over-the-road in 1993. In 2005, he left the road for work as a freight broker and CDL instructor, in 2015 completing a B.S. in psychology and communications at Missouri Western State University. He returned to OTR work the same year, while pursuing a Masters and PhD in psychology. As of 2018, he’d turned 3 million accident-free miles over his career, the most recent in his 2018 T680 Kenworth. Petersen is leased to Christenson Transportation out of Springfield, Mo., and serves as a Road Chaplain with Channel 21 Ministries, serving truckers and others in the industry.
