Averitt wins awards from retailer

Cookeville, Tenn.-based Averitt Express recently won Dollar General’s 2009 awards for LTL Carrier of the Year and Carrier Partner of the Year.

The retailer, whose headquarters are in Goodlettsville, Tenn., makes the less-than-truckload award based on a fleet’s on-time service, quality and flexibility, said Averitt company spokesman Chris Asberry. The carrier partner award recognizes a fleet’s innovation in meeting the retailer’s truckload, LTL and dedicated service needs, Asberry said.
