National diesel price falls

After three weeks of increases, the average weekly retail on-highway diesel price dropped this week, dipping 0.6-cent to $3.066 a gallon, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

The national average price is 26.6 cents higher than the same week last year and the highest price since $3.094 the week of May 17.

Most of the regions tracked by DOE recorded small declines of less than a penny, except for the Gulf Coast, which increased 0.6-cent to $2.985, and the Rocky Mountain region, which gained 1.6 cents to $3.128.
