Boyd Bros. Transportation driver tops 2 million miles

Company driver Virgil Shell recently exceeded driving 2 million miles safely, Boyd Bros. Transportation announced. A 16-year veteran trucker and resident of Columbia, S.C, Shell was given a bonus check and trophy for his accomplishment.

Shell said that he enjoys working for the Clayton, Ala.-based fleet. The carrier was recently selected as Best Fleet for Company Drivers by the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and CarriersEdge.

MRL Transport owner Mark Ledford today hauls direct freight outbound for customers in part built from his years of ownership of another fleet, since sold after years of growth. MRL in some ways is Ledford's effort to right-size a business for his life today.
