Diesel price moves higher

For a third consecutive week, the average weekly on-highway diesel price increased to a two-year high, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

The national average price gained 1.7 cents to $3.248, after rising 6.9 cents the previous two weeks. The current price is the highest since $3.288 in October 2008 and 52.2 cents above a year ago.

Prices in all individual regions tracked by DOE rose. The Midwest gained 2.4 cents to $3.229, while the Gulf Coast increased 2 cents to $3.183. The East Coast was 1.2 cents to $3.26. California remained the most expensive at $3.407, up 0.4-cent.
