Xata Corp., a provider of trucking compliance and fleet optimization software, announced it is integrating and reselling ZoomSafer’s software, FleetSafer Mobile and FleetSafer Vision, which are designed to reduce distracted driving.
FleetSafer Mobile is designed to enforce a fleet’s safe-driving policies and runs alongside Xata Turnpike on mobile and smartphones. Xata Turnpike currently runs on consumer-grade and rugged mobile phones without driver interaction when the vehicle is in motion. With FleetSafer Mobile, no other third-party applications, such as texting, can be used on the device when the vehicle is in motion.
“Distracted driving doesn’t need to be a growing problem,” said Christian Schenk, vice president of product marketing for Xata.
Xata said its clients also will benefit from FleetSafer Vision, a software reporting tool designed to leverage telematics data in conjunction with phone records and e-mail services to measure and report to fleet managers the information they need to identify at-risk drivers.
“With the addition of FleetSafer, Xata customers of any size can proactively enforce safe driving policies, which, in turn, will enable the fleets to reduce the number of crashes and save money,” said Matt Howard, founder and CEO of ZoomSafer.
