Diesel price holds under $4

The price of diesel for the week ended Monday dropped just a smudge — four-tenths of a cent — to $3.976 a gallon, following the first week the national average diesel price dropped below $4 since mid-August. The U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration says the price is 3.4 cents a gallon lower than the same week in 2011.
