Celadon Group (No. 32 on the CCJ Top 250) is raising its owner-operator and company driver pay as part of its new “Driver First” initiative.
The pay for flatbed and reefer owner-operators has been increased to 75 percent of gross revenue in approximately 15 states within the company’s freight network. Dry van owner-operators for the company will see an increase in pay to 70 percent of gross revenue in the same states. All other owner-operators will receive 67 percent of the gross. Over-the-road company drivers will receive increased pay based on the region they operate in. Dry van OTR drivers in Celadon’s North Premium Markets can earn between 38 cents per mile and 50 cents a mile, depending on experience, and dry van drivers in the South Premium Markets can earn between 36 cents per mile and 50 cents per mile, based on experience. Reefer drivers can make three cents per mile more than dry van drivers in the same regions. Company driver pay options can be seen here.
