Update – Thursday, June 15, 10 a.m. Central: The Associated Press is reporting the gunman who killed three UPS employees and himself Wednesday in San Francisco was a driver who opened fire on co-workers during a meeting. Jimmy Lam, 38, had reportedly filed a grievance with the company in March complaining of excessive overtime, asking the company to not give him extra hours going forward.

AP reports it appeared Lam specifically targeted three drivers before turning the gun on himself.

Original story follows:

UPS has confirmed a shooting occurred Wednesday morning at its large warehouse and customer service facility in San Francisco.

The company told the Associated Press an employee opened fire in the facility before drivers were sent out for their daily deliveries. AP also confirmed four people were killed in the shooting, and it is believed the shooter also shot himself.

The company’s official statement states “there are potentially multiple deaths, although some individuals were transported to the hospital and we are unsure of their status at this time.” AP is reporting three UPS employees and the shooter were killed.

UPS said the facility is an area package sorting hub and package delivery center.
