I-17 closures planned for this weekend in Phoenix
Drivers traveling along I-17 through Phoenix this weekend should expect delays and consider adjusting route plans with sections of the interstate set to close at times.
The Arizona Department of Transportation encourages drivers using I-17 to travel through the area either early in the morning or later at night, if possible.
The southbound lanes of I-17 will be closed between State Route 74/Carefree Highway and Happy Valley Road from 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5 through 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6. Southbound I-17 traffic can detour west on SR 74 and use southbound Lake Pleasant Parkway and eastbound Happy Valley Road to return to I-17.
Northbound I-17 will be closed between Happy Valley Road and SR 74 from 9 p.m. Saturday through 7 p.m. Sunday. Northbound I-17 traffic can detour west on Happy Valley Road and use northbound Lake Pleasant Parkway to eastbound SR 74 to reach I-17 beyond the closure.
New Pilot opens in Washington state
Pilot Company is expanding its footprint with the opening of a new location in Tumwater, Washington, just south of Olympia.
The Flying J Travel Center is located at Exit 99 along I-5 and will offer 73 truck parking spaces.
The location will also feature a Taco Bell restaurant, eight diesel fueling lanes, seven showers and more.
“Our Tumwater team is ready to welcome drivers to fuel, recharge and stock up for the road,” said Jason Nordin, Chief Operator of Pilot Company. “This is our 11th location in the state, and we appreciate the partnership with the Chehalis Tribe to bring this much-needed facility and jobs to the region.
