A positive bit of news involving truckers Ken Lear, Jeff Norwood and a man and his dog came out of Mt. Laurel, N.J., last week.

Lear and Norwood, as is quite often the case out on the highways, were first on the scene of a car fire on I-295 in Mt. Laurel, where they headed up a successful rescue. The man driving the car, Ron Legault, managed to get out of the car before the flames got too hot, his dog, Riker, was trapped in the backseat as flames engulfed “whole front of the car,” Norwood told Philadelphia ABC 6 news.

With their help, Legault managed to get the pup to safety. Following the incident, Legault had very little to say about Lear and Norwood. He noted, simply, they were just “awesome.”
