Richfield, Wis., resident Vinnio Diorio’s 2013 Peterbilt 389 and matching 2008 MAC trailer won Best of Show in the Working Combo category.It was a good weekend for striped paint jobs in Wildwood, Fla., April 26-28, where the 75 Chrome Shop Pride & Polish show named Austin Ashley’s 2007 Peterbilt 379 — the Best of Show winner from the 2012 Great American Trucking Show Pride & Polish — and Vinnie Diorio’s 2013 Peterbilt 389 Best of Show winners in the Working categories.
Raleigh, Miss., native Austin Ashley poses with his Best of Show trophy — among other pieces of hardware — and his 2007 Peterbilt 379.In the Limited Mileage categories, Todd Roccapriore’s 2001 Peterbilt 379 won Best of Show, Limited-Mileage Bobtail, and Michael Manuel’s 1984 Peterbilt 359 and matching 2003 Benson flatbed won Best of Show, Limited-Mileage Combo.
Ashley’s purple and white striped 379 won top honors in the Working Bobtail category, and Diorio’s truck, shown by Kevin Pascavis, took home the same in Working Combo.
With the victories, all four trucks are now qualified to compete in the Pride & Polish National Championship judging round in Dallas in August at The Great American Trucking Show.
The trucks will compete against Best of Show winners from the 2013 season’s five other stops: 2012 GATS, 2012 Charlotte Diesel Super Show, 2012 PDI Dyno event, 2013 Great West Truck Show and the 2013 Fitzgerald Truck Show.
