Erich Owens regular readers will recall from my past coverage of his and Ralph Dineen’s two quite serious Series 60 Western Star truck-pulling machines, regulars at the annual truck pull and show at the Broome County Fair in Whitney Point, N.Y. This year, the overall fair’s taking place July 28-August 2, and Owens says the show and shine gets going at 8:30 a.m. August 1, with pull action starting at 1 p.m. Click here for more info on the fair.

Steve Kalwaytis of the Virginia Large Cars group — find them on Facebook at this link — wrote in with details about a show he’s hosting with the rest of the crew in Madison, Va., on August 15. All proceeds, he says “go to support veterans and their families.” It’s called the “Freedom Fighers Truck Show.”
