Mother Nature hasn’t been kind to the Minimizer Bandit Big Rig Series so far this year with both of the series’ first two races being pushed back due to rain, but this weekend’s race at Motor Mile Speedway in Fairlawn, Va., appears to have the green light.

Series organizers were able to fit the season opener at Mobile International Speedway in Alabama into the schedule just two weeks after its original date, but the second race at Hickory Motor Speedway in Newton, N.C., originally scheduled for April 7, was postponed until August.

“Not ideal at all,” Bandit General Manager Jason Johnson said. “But it is what it is. Unfortunately, you can’t control the weather.”

The racers and their trucks will now return to the track for the first time in nearly a month this Saturday, April 21, looking to build some momentum going into the heart of the schedule.

Allen Boles will be looking to repeat his success from the season opener and capture another feature race win. Tommy Boileau, who finished second in the season opener and is currently the points leader due to his performance in the heat races on opening weekend, will look to return to victory lane after capturing four checkered flags last season.

Tickets for the race are available online in advance of the race. General admission tickets are $25, and children 8 and under get in free. There will also be the Minimizer Fan Series Truck Show before the race for attendees to either bring their own rigs to show off or check out other trucks in attendance. Racing action will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday evening.
