Josh Asbury is a company driver for Rosedale, Virginia-based Greg Kiser Trucking. The fleet hauls a variety of freight mostly along the East Coast -- including sand, fertilizer, coal, even cattle.
Asbury was showing off one of the fleet’s trucks -- a 2008 Peterbilt 389 -- at the 2025 Large Cars & Guitars truck show and music festival at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Kiser team nicknamed the unit "A Touch of Class" given rig's old-school look and feel.
Though centered out East, “we'll go everywhere,” Asbury said of the fleet’s operations. "I usually pull a pneumatic tank with” the 389 featured in the video up top. “Going to get into a little bit of the dump trailer [work]. I pull cattle with it sometimes.”

The company bought this 2008 Peterbilt 389 by and large as-is for paint scheme and other exterior features. When the doors pop open, though, you see where the Kiser team's handiwork really shines.

The interior features “about everything Rockwood makes,” Asbury said. It boasts a rosewood floor, custom dash and numerous other pieces. Asbury recently added a stereo system that features two subwoofers under the bed with two amps “pushing 3,000 watts all together,” he said. “It rocks pretty good.”

“When you open the door and people see it," Asbury said, you can see the surprise. "You go to one of these farms or somewhere and people don’t expect to see that when they open the door.”

Asbury's added plenty lights all around the truck, inside and out. He added watermelon lights throughout the sleeper and the panel over the dash.
On the exterior, the truck and accompanying 2024 Hahnz dump trailer feature underglow. “It lights up pretty good,” Asbury noted.

The Kiser team added new stacks and a new front bumper, but the rest of the unit's exterior stayed the same. The paint job's one that Asbury noted everybody who sees the truck seems to love.
“It’s kind of the old-school stripes like on the 359s back in the day,” he said. “It kind of appeals to everybody about the old-school trucking ways.”
Under the hood is a Cat engine that was originally a twin turbo, but the Kiser team “single turboed it,” Asbury said.

Josh Asbury: Had a lot done to it. A lot of the interior work, all Rockwood stuff in the inside. The paint job -- everybody loves the paint job.
I'm Josh, work for Greg Kiser Trucking. We do a little bit of everything. We got pneumatics, so we got dump trailers, a little bit of cattle, sand, fertilizer, coal, a lot of coal around here. We're based out of Rosedale, Virginia, mostly run the East Coast. But, we'll go everywhere.
It's a 389, '08 model. Had a lot done to it, a lot of the interior work, all Rockwood stuff in the inside. And, just like to say about everything Rockwood makes, it's got it. I mean, just, from the rosewood floor to all the dash and, done a pretty good stereo system here recently. Got to subs under the bed, got two amps, probably pushing 3,000 watts all together. It rocks pretty good.
I've done all the interior lights, all the watermelons. I added them in the sleeper and then over the panel, over the dash, and done a lot of lights on it. It's got all underglow underneath of it, underglow under the trailer. So yeah, it lights up pretty good.
The paint job -- everybody loves the paint job. We bought it like that. It's kind of the old-school stripes on like the 359s, you know, back in the day, and kind of appeals to everybody about the old-school trucking ways, you know.
It's got a Cat in it. It was original twin turbo Cat. We single turboed it. It's pretty much all original other than the single turbo.
We done the stacks and the bumper. That's really about it, all as far as we've done to it. Just odds and ends here and there. Just little stuff just to make it better.
We call it "A Touch of Class" because it's got the old-school look, you know, Peterbilt, the "Class Pays" and just kind of keep the old-school theme with it.
Lawson Rudisill: Tell me a little about the trailer behind it.
Josh Asbury: It's a '24 model Hahnz dump trailer. Tommy Hahnz's guys, he's a good guy, and he's been working with us quite a while, and we got several his trailers, they're good trailers, for sure.
We just work pretty hard, and we usually run quite a bit of miles with it, so we try to keep it up as best we can.
