David McDaniel’s 2002 Peterbilt 379 sports a 550-horsepower Caterpillar 6NZ with an 18-speed and 3:55 rears. He hauls glass for Moore Freight Service out of Mascot, Tenn., mainly from Tennessee to Ontario, Quebec or New Brunswick, Canada every week. He has added a 20-inch front bumper, 8-inch stacks, W.T.I. full fenders and more than 100 LED lights.

FMCSA stops short of saying 2020 HOS changes caused more crashes

The number of post-crash inspections with an out-of-service HOS violation increased significantly after the 2020 hours changes compared to a pre-change period, but FMCSA said other external factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, weighed heavily on results.
