FleetUp-logoThe latest addition to Overdrive‘s quick-glance comparison chart of electronic logging devices on the market today is the bring-your-own-device-type FleetUp product/software. Fleets/owner-operators utilizing the service lease the hardware dongle — which plugs into the engine — and pay a minimum $35 monthly service fee to keep the device active.

Fleetup-on-android-laptopCompany rep Dave Holt noted the logbook app that interfaces with the engine connection is available for both Android and iOS applications. Per-customer tracking/delivery confirmation and a sophisticated, patent-pending fuel-waste analysis application are among features that set FleetUp apart. Engine diagnostics and partially automated IFTA reporting, likewise, are among available services.

The California-based company says its engine connection hardware utilizes the cellular network “to transmit data direct from the vehicle engine every 10s to a modern, cloud-based data server, where it is made available” through both web-based and mobile apps. FleetUp is currently one of three ELD providers listed on FMCSA’s self-certified device registry.
