FMCSA revokes registration of three more ELDs

Truck drivers and fleets using the TT ELD PT30, ELOG42, and Renaissance ELD are asked to stop using the devices and look into replacements following the revocation of the devices’ “registered” status by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

FMCSA announced the revocations Thursday morning as a result of “the companies’ failure to meet the minimum requirements established in Title 49 CFR Appendix A to Subpart B of Part 395.”

Specifics of the devices:

  • TT ELD PT30 -- Model Number: ARN752; ELD Identifier: CZGS10; ELD Provider: TT ELD Inc.
  • ELOG42 -- Model Number: ERS; ELD Identifier: ERS156; ELD Provider: Leko Inc.
  • Renaissance ELD -- Model Number: RNSSNC; ELD Identifier: RNS592; ELD Provider: Renaissance ELD

Motor carriers have up to 60 days to replace the revoked ELDs with compliant devices. FMCSA said anyone using the devices should discontinue using them and revert to paper logs or logging software to record hours of service data and replace the revoked devices with compliant ELDs before Nov. 3.

Enforcement personnel are instructed to not cite drivers for using the devices prior to Nov. 3, but beginning on that date, drivers found to be using the revoked devices will be considered as operating without an ELD.

If the ELD providers correct all identified deficiencies for their devices, FMCSA will place them back on the list of registered devices and inform the industry of the update. However, FMCSA strongly encourages motor carriers to take the actions listed above now to avoid compliance issues in the event that the deficiencies are not addressed by the ELD provider.
