As it turned out I had a knack for driving a truck and I am pretty good at it. Every day I learn something new out here on the road. I absolutely love my career choice!”
Kerns makes sure she has her hair, makeup and hot pink acrylic nails done before starting work. But, it’s the interior strength and confidence gained from trucking that makes her shine.

I am a 42-year-old mother of four with three grandchildren. I earned my CDL A September of 2013. My children are all grown and I decided to pursue a career driving a truck instead of just waiting on drivers at the fuel desk. As it turned out I had a knack for driving a truck and I am pretty good at it. Everyday I learn something new out here on the road. I absolutely love my career choice. On a personal note, I’ve had a lot of hard times and trials in my life. I was raised in the Baptist Church and I am a Christian but I had strayed so far away from God. Recently I have felt a calling to get my life back right and begin to walk with God again and spread the word to anyone that will listen about God’s love for us and how to accept Christ as our personal Savior. I was really nervous actually about sharing my feelings on my Facebook page but as it turns out I’ve had such incredible positive feedback from everyone. I truly AM blessed with the abilities, strength, courage, knowledge and faith that God has given me to be where I am today. I have a wonderful career, an amazing supportive family, a great Christian company that I work for, and positively incredible friends. honestly I am not entering this contest because I think I am beautiful or attractive on the outside, I’m entering this contest because 1, I want to show other girls, mothers and grandmothers that you can do anything you put your mind to and trucking is definitely not just a man’s world anymore and 2, I would love to be able to share God’s Word with as many people as humanly possible.
