Overdrive’s Pride & Polish and the new
Meritor ChampTruck World Series collide this week in Northern California, where the second stop in both 2015 circuits will be held together at the Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, Calif.
The event takes place May 22-24 about an hour outside of Sacramento. It will feature displays of the country’s top show trucks and a weekend full of 100-mph truck race action on the speedway.
The Dynaflex Original Monster Truck Shootout, as the Pride & Polish portion of the show is called, will be the fourth stop in the 2015 Pride & Polish National Championship series. The show’s four Best of Show winners will qualify to compete in a special round of judging at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas in August, where the national champions will be named.
It also is the second stop in ChampTruck’s inaugural season. ChampTruck races field a team of roughly a dozen Class 8 trucks, who will race in about a half-dozen heats and a main event to determine both a weekend points champion and earn points for the season championship.
Admission costs $20 for adults. Children 15 and under get in free.
