High Valley’s custom military, aerospace hauler

20140915_114615Owner-operator Shane Becker of Ramona, Cailf., runs the West hauling military equipment, jet engines and oversized aerospace equipment with this 1999 Peterbilt 379.

The truck is powered by a 625-hp Caterpillar and a 10-speed transmission, and Becker’s loaded the truck with custom features. Becker has added a Jones Performance hood and fenders, a 20-inch Valley Chrome bumper with a flip kit, drop visor, 1,200-watt sound system, LED flat screen and more. Becker says he and his son Mikey did the bulk of the custom work. Becker’s High Valley Trucking will also turn 20 this year. “Something my family and I are very proud of,” he said.

Among the last additions to matte-black painted unit was this wood-worked eagle bolted at the top of the custom fifth wheel cover by Hopewell Sheet Metal of Hagerstown, Md., which also did the deckplating work. 'Buddy built that eagel out of wood – and below that is the helmet, gun and the boot with the eagle flying over the top of it. He’s 75 years old (built the eagle) – He called me up one day and said I have something for your truck for you. He said, I’m a veteran, I said I sure will. Pappy. I’ve known him from the bowling alley.
