1976 Peterbilt 359 day cab gets road-worthy for dump-trailer work

Sauls

After spending years hauling in his 1985 Peterbilt 359, owner-operator Josh Sauls "figured it needed some downtime." He picked up this 1976 359 in 2022 and has "worked on it here and there."

He got serious about getting it road-worthy last year.

The day cab features a 400 Big Cam Cummins with a double-over 15-speed transmission and 3.90 rears.

Sauls put on a fresh paint job, went through all of the wiring and air system, and is still working on it today.

The truck, he said, "ain't had too hard of a life." It pulled a lowboy before he bought it for an electric company, then sat for about a decade before Sauls bought it.

Sauls primarily pulls a dump trailer "but will do about anything."
