The annual International Roadcheck 72-hour inspection blitz will be held June 4-6 with a focus on steering and suspension systems. Inspectors will primarily conduct Level I inspections on most rigs checked during the event.

HELP Inc., provider of PrePass bypass service, has changed its name to PrePass Safety Alliance, the company announced last week. The new name “better reflects the core mission and structure of the non-profit public/private partnership,” the company said in a press release.

In what could become a clash between lawmakers in the U.S. House and a Department of Transportation aiming to propose an overhaul to drivers’ hours of service regulations, a working version of the annual Transportation Department funding bill released by the House’s Appropriations Committee last week would bar the DOT from eliminating the 30-minute break requirement of current hours regs.
