Traffic fatalities trend down in 2025
Broadly, NHTSA estimates that traffic fatalities fell another 6.7% in 2025 from 2024, continuing a downward trend. While vehicle-specific fatality data isn't yet available for 2025, NHTSA reported a 2.5% decrease in people killed in crashes involving large trucks from 2023 to 2024.
