Ohio-based bulk asphalt hauler J.D. Howard’s custom 1995 KW W900L, with an older A-model feel
VIDEO: In addition to a down-to-the-frame refurbishment of many of the mechanical components of the truck, Howard invested in Jones Performance’s older A-model-style hood for the W900L and an 66-inch ICT flattop sleeper built to resemble a classic Double Eagle-style model, giving the rig an overall retro feel.

Among the last additions to matte-black painted daycab was this wood-worked eagle bolted above the helmet, gun and boot on the custom fifth wheel cover by Hopewell Sheet Metal of Hagerstown, Md., which also did the deckplating work. (See the galleries below for more images.) The eagle is the work of a Marine Corps veteran and friend Timbrook knows from the local bowling alley. “He’s 75 years old, and I know him just as Pappy,” Timbrook says. “He called me up one day and said, ‘I have something for your truck for you,'” and that he’d be honored if Timbrook used it. “I said, ‘I sure will.'”
