One way we’re celebrating the 25th anniversary of Overdrive’s Pride & Polish this year is highlighting our best custom truck videos.

We’ll always lean on our deep archive of show truck photos, but there’s something special about the videos. That’s because the “polish” speaks for itself, but the “pride” is most evident when you talk with the owners.

I’ve yet to meet a Pride & Polish entrant who wasn’t eager to recount the months, or usually years, invested in bringing his truck from its neglected state to its present glory. I wish a had a dollar for every time I’ve heard “down to the frame rails.”

Never having done any technical rehab on a scale close to these projects, I can only imagine the long hours. It must take superhuman patience and resourcefulness to get past the inevitable hurdles that come with blending components new, old and fabricated.

You’ll get a sense of that hard work and pride if you watch the 25 videos that we’ll feature over 25 weeks. They represent those that, in most cases, have gotten the most views on our Custom Rigs playlist on YouTube.

These videos will be grouped as they’re featured at our 25th anniversary page, where you’ll also find other coverage of the anniversary.

We’re kicking off the series with Travis Buhr and his 2001 Peterbilt 379. I interviewed him at the 2013 Great West Truck Show in Las Vegas, where he won two Pride & Polish awards:
