Decker Truck Line, Inc. started a new pay plan Feb. 15 for reefer and van company drivers. The plan was formed to accommodate increased business and is available to all new reefer/van driver hires and current drivers interested in working for the fleet, said Don Decker, president of the Fort Dodge, Iowa-based carrier.
The base rate of drivers hired effective Feb. 15, based on prior driving experience, will increase from a range of 34-36 cents per mile to a range of 37-39 cents per mile, said Decker Truck Line Recruiting Manager Deb Jorgensen. An annual increase of 0.5 cents per mile accompanies the new pay plan. Current drivers are eligible to switch to the new rates, Jorgensen said.
In March, the carrier will begin taking delivery of 20 new 2011 Peterbilt 386 and 387 models. Drivers age 23 or older may qualify for positions, more details of which are online at www.drivedecker.com or available by calling (877) 233-2537.
