Drivers in the St. Louis area should expect traffic delays and detours this weekend, Sept. 24-26, due to construction, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
MoDOT will close various lanes of Interstate 270 in both directions near the Page Avenue/Route 364 interchange. At one point, all lanes will close for up to 30 minutes for bridge girder work. Crews will close some lanes between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday to install steel girders for the new ramp from northbound I-270 to westbound Page Avenue/Route 364. All lanes of I-270 will close up to 30 minutes at some point between the hours of 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. both Friday night and Saturday night.
Drivers are encouraged to use I-170 between I-64 and I-70 as a detour to avoid the work altogether.
In addition, all lanes will close on eastbound I-64 from 22nd Street to 8th Street starting at 7 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday. Drivers needing to cross the Mississippi River should do so via I-44, I-55, I-70, I-270 or I-255.
The westbound Poplar Street bridge ramp to southbound I-55 and the southbound Memorial Drive ramp to southbound I-55 will close Friday night at 10 p.m. for pavement repairs. Both ramps will reopen Monday morning at 5 a.m. Drivers can access I-255 in Illinois and rejoin I-55 south of St. Louis or use I-70 or I-44 to reach the I-270 loop and head south to I-55.
One lane of eastbound I-70 will be closed at Route 370 from 9 a.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. Overnight Friday and Saturday nights, two lanes will be closed eastbound. The exit ramp from westbound Route 370 to eastbound I-70 will also be closed.
