Veteran driving team takes home NAST trophy

Forty-year trucking vets Harvey and Karen Zander’s 2003 International Model 9001x has been named the winner of the 2011 NAST Truck-Lite Trophy.

The truck, which they’ve named Icy Blue 2, features 322 Truck-Lite LED lights and won the couple a prize of $5,000, along with the trophy.

Second place went to Jeremy Trout and his 2007 Kenworth W900, known as the Truck of Honor, who received a trophy and $2,500. The awards ceremony was held in conjunction with the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., in March.

Among the iconic Kenworths participating in the 4th annual Kenworth Truck Parade in Chillicothe, Ohio, was this 1966 Kenworth W923.
