Muralt’s Travel Plaza held its eighth annual Drive to Save Lives blood drive, along with the NATSO Foundation. The blood drive was held Sept. 24-28, and 531 pints were donated. This year’s goal was originally 400 pints of blood, but Walt Muralt, general manager of Missoula, Mont., says interest increased after the terrorist attacks.
“Our local Red Cross people have told us they are booked solid for appointments to give blood after what happened that Tuesday,” he says.
NATSO kicked off the blood drive on April 9 in Alexandria, Va.
