Magellan and AAA have renewed their multiyear partnership and are now bringing a roadside dispatch system to Magellan’s RoadMate Commercial 5190T GPS. AAA road service operators, using the company’s D/2000 system, will use the RoadMate to navigate to where the assistance is needed.
The American Automobile Association provides travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services. Rick Lorenz, the company’s director of wireless program development and fleet communications, says, “Timely arrival to a breakdown location is a critical component to member safety and road service network productivity. AAA’s ability to pinpoint breakdown location and navigate to a particular street address is enhanced with Magellan navigation.”
