Kenworth T680 named ATD’s Truck of the Year

Kenworth T680The Kenworth T680 with the 76-inch sleeper and Paccar’s MX engine was named as the American Truck Dealers’ 2013 Commercial Truck of the Year in the Class 8 category, ATD announced this week. ATD is part of the National Auto Dealers Association, and the award was given at the NADA Convention & Expo this weekend at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Gary Moore, general manager of Kenworth, accepted the award from ATD and said the truck has come several years in the making and its design was guided by commentary from customers.

“I think the reason we produced this award winning truck is due to the efforts of the last four years during which we found customers were looking for significant fuel savings, high visibility, high tech equipment and enjoyment,” Moore says. “Our customers are looking for a complete home, office and work package.”

The Hino 195h was named the medium-duty Truck of the Year.
