According to DAT’s analysis of the spot market for the week ending October 4, freight availability rebounded 1.5 percent at the close of the month and quarter, following relative seasonal slips over the course of the month in an otherwise strong market this year marked by tight capacity and abundant freight. National average rates for vans regained a penny, flatbed was up 3 cents and reefer rates declined 5 cents, all compared to the previous week. Other metrics were as follows.
