UPDATE 3 p.m. CST, 2/24/15: The Michigan Department of Transportation report the Mackinac Bridge, closed the morning of February 24 due to a multiple vehicle crash and whiteout conditions, has reopened as of 2:18 p.m. EST.

The Michigan Department of Transportation reported the Mackinac Bridge connecting the state’s Upper Peninsula and the mainland closed this morning following a multiple-vehicle crash and near-zero visibility with blowing snow.

The closure is expected to last several hours until weather conditions improve. Tune in to this website, or to AM 530 or 1610 in the Straits area, for updates.
