Truck stop offering drivers free turkey dinner on Thanksgiving

Truckers on the road in Idaho on Thanksgiving Day can get a free meal at the Boise Stage Stop, the truck stop announced this week.

Drivers only need to show their CDL to a server to receive a free turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Boise Stage Stop says it hosts a Driver Appreciation Day every year on Thanksgiving Day as a “thank you” to truckers.

Prizes will also be available for truckers that stop in for a meal that day.

FMCSA offers details on proposed HOS-flexibility pilot programs

Following DOT Secretary Sean Duffy's announcement of the launch of the pilot programs Monday, FMCSA released proposals showing one pilot would add more split-sleeper berth options, while the other would allow drivers to pause their 14-hour clock for up to 3 hours per duty cycle.
