The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Medical Review Board will continue to offer medical advice and recommendations to the agency after its charter was renewed recently for two more years.

The MRB is composed of five members from medical institutions and private practice. These members specialize in areas most relevant to commercial drivers, FMSCA says. They are tasked with giving advice and recommendations to FMCSA on medical standards and guidelines for the physical qualifications of truckers and other commercial drivers.

FMCSA announced in a Federal Register notice Thursday it has renewed the charter, effective Nov. 25, for two years.
