A construction project on the I-435 and I-70 interchange in Kansas City, Missouri, will close several ramps within the interchange through 2020.

The project, which will replace the bridges in the interchange, remove left exits and more, will begin Thursday, March 7 with various lane closures to set up detour signs and other equipment for the project.

Then, on Monday, March 11, Missouri Department of Transportation crews will close the eastbound I-70 ramp to Manchester Trafficway and the Manchester Trafficway on-ramp to westbound I-70. These ramps are expected to be closed through December 2020.

Later in the week, crews will close the westbound I-70 loop ramp to southbound I-435 until approximately December 2020. A signed detour will take traffic from westbound I-70 to Manchester to turn around on eastbound I-70 to southbound I-435.

The eastbound I-70 loop ramp to northbound I-435 will also be closed during the week until approximately December 2020. A signed detour will use U.S. 40 starting near 31st Street to northbound I-435.

MoDOT says traffic will be impacted along I-435 Northbound to I-70 Westbound, I-435 Southbound to I-70 Eastbound, and the Blue Ridge Cutoff.
