Western Star, Daimler Truck Financial offer down payment match for military vets

United States and Canadian military personnel, both active duty and veterans, will continue to receive a down payment match when buying a Western Star and financing through Daimler Truck Financial.

Western Star Trucks and Daimler Truck Financial announced they are extending the VetStar Military Appreciation Finance Program, which launched in 2016, through the end of 2019.

The program offers U.S. military veterans up to a $2,000 match on a down payment on a new Western Star truck financed through DTF. Canadian veterans are eligible for a $3,000 Canadian match on a down payment through DTF.

The VetStar program applies to all new Western Star models. Glider kits are not eligible.

FMCSA offers details on proposed HOS-flexibility pilot programs

Following DOT Secretary Sean Duffy's announcement of the launch of the pilot programs Monday, FMCSA released proposals showing one pilot would add more split-sleeper berth options, while the other would allow drivers to pause their 14-hour clock for up to 3 hours per duty cycle.
