Rovi releases GPS-enabled dashcam
Dashcam manufacturer Rovi has released its new GPS Dashcam Prime, which features high-definition and low-light recording, Wi-Fi connected streaming, GPS location and speed recording, collision detection and more. The camera records in 1080p at 30 frames per second with a 150-degree lens.
With the included GPS antenna, the camera automatically overlays the current vehicle speed on recorded video and records the exact position at all times. Using the free Rovi Live app, drivers can transfer recorded video to smartphones, tablets, laptops and PCs via Wi-Fi connection. A parking mode also activates recording when motion is detected, allowing the device to record in the event of an accident while the vehicle is parked.
The camera retails for $179.99 and is covered by a 12-month warranty.
