Wyoming DOT closing eastbound Teton Pass to trailer traffic a month early
An extended closure of a runaway truck ramp system on Wyoming Highway 22 at Teton Pass is causing the Wyoming Department of Transportation to enforce an earlier seasonal trailer traffic closure than normal this year.

The early closure will begin Tuesday, Oct. 15, and will only affect eastbound traffic on Teton Pass. Westbound traffic will be allowed to travel the bass, barring any weather-related closures, until the annual full closure for both directions begins Nov. 15 and continues until April 1.

Broker takes up Trucker Tools’ one-click load selection option for owner-ops
West Chester, Ohio-based Kingsgate Logistics Services has completed integration and gone live with Trucker Tools “Book it Now,” a new feature of the company’s cloud-based software platform that further automates the process of booking truckload shipments with carriers. The broker’s among the first to start full operation with the tool. It connects with the broker’s TMS as a “plug and play” integration and does not require significant process change.

Kingsgate Strategic Development VP Tom Curee, who calls small carriers of 10 trucks or less as well as single-truck owner-operators the backbone of Kingsgate’s capacity network, says more automation of the load transaction is in demand in Kingsgate carrier network to help “save them time and let them engage with many brokers in a standardized, common process. Book it Now greatly simplifies and accelerates the process for how a trucker accepts a load – literally taking it down to one click of a button. All the information is there, accurate and in real-time, for the trucker to make a decision. Once accepted, the shipment is booked, a rate confirmation is automatically generated, and all other shipment details are transmitted to the driver’s smart phone. Then he clicks on the pickup location and off he goes.”
