CARB to require trucks to store data on emissions, fuel use by 2022
CARB will require year-model 2022 and later engines to collect and store data on NOx output and fuel consumption “that would be used to characterize [carbon dioxide] emissions on all heavy-duty vehicles in use,” CARB says. Data would be retrieved via the engine by plugging in a scanning tool or data reader.

Winter storm prompts speed restrictions on Pennsylvania Turnpike
Speeds on the Turnpike are now reduced to 45 mph from the Donegal Interchange (exit 91) to the Valley Forge Interchange (exit 326). The 45 mph restriction is also in place for all of I-276, I-95 to the Delaware River Bridge, and all of I-476.

Trucking groups plan to fight Connecticut governor-elect’s trucks tolling plan
Democrat Ned Lamont, who was elected as the state’s next governor last week, said during his campaign he intends to propose trucks-only tolls in the state to curb what is projected to be a multi-billion-dollar budget deficit by 2021. However, the state’s trucking association, with backing from the American Trucking Associations, says it intends to fight any trucks-only tolls.

According to a report from Villages-News.com, the trucker was asleep in his rig when 51-year-old Brian James Cozzie, of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, started beating on his truck and ordering him to move. The report states the unnamed driver, who was allegedly taking up two parking spaces, told Cozzie he wasn’t going to move.
