Longtime fleet owner Jerry Martin’s first truck, this 1981 Kenworth W900, was the base for what eventually became a 30-truck fleet, “spanning a very successful trucking career of 30 years,” the former owner-op says. The photo was taken just after Martin received his own authority, and he hauled chickens with the KW to California and produce back to Texas. “If you look close you can see my wife putting on her makeup in the passenger visor mirror. The truck is gone,” Martin says, “but I still go the best part of it — her and the memories!”
