Doug McClung’s 2005 Peterbilt 379 is equipped with a 425-horsepower Cat C15 and an Eaton-Fuller 18-speed with 3:36 rears. The truck sits on a 270-inch wheelbase and features a 70-inch sleeper. McClung has added a TriPac APU and has done one complete engine overhaul since buying the truck. In May 2016, he got out of the reefer business after more than 30 years and bought a 43-foot Timpte Super Hopper to haul dried distillers grain out of ethanol plants to Illinois and fertilizer to Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana. McClung runs on his own authority, McClung Trucking, out of Baraboo, Wis.
