Everything must go!It’s a good-looking unit, no doubt, one among several I got a look at during this past weekend’s Expedite Expo niche trade show in Lexington, Ky., the 18th year for the show from expediting-niche publisher OnTime Media (Expedite Now, ExpeditersOnline.com):
The Volvo is outfitted with a custom ARI sleeper and powered by a 500-hp Volvo D13 engine through the I-Shift automated manual transmission, with a 20,000-lb. steer axle and 40K rears. A fuller view of the reefer box follows, along with a specs list farther down.
Wide view of the straight-truck expediter, owned by owner-ops Richard and Maria Baulos.If it’s safe to assume the unit’s current owner-ops, Richard and Maria Baulos (though Maria has been off the truck for the last several years caring for an ailing parent), didn’t manage to ink a deal with any of the many expediting owner-ops and fleet owners present at the show, it could well remain available.
The Bauloses live currently in Virginia, with their business domiciled in Indiana and most recently leased to Landstar.
Richard’s looking at retirement and a Teamsters pension from years past in his long career in trucking, Maria told me Saturday. As part of the wind-down, the truck is of course newly available.
